“Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder”, Said someone. But what happens when we deface that beauty, take it for granted? There are a million ways in which to destroy something and someone. But what we don’t realize is that a single action, or a mistimed comment can have stupendous repercussions. And as demented as we human beings are, instead of agreeing to something being our mistake, we blame it on the other person, wrecking them even more than they themselves realize.
Honestly though? Its not even the other persons fault as much as it is ours for not knowing ourselves. Today we prefer to ‘feel’ our way through relationships. Rationality didn’t even have a chance. We have, as a generation managed to mangle beauty, love and honesty into sex, lust and insincerity. But rather than discovering ourselves, we change the person in front of us into what we think we want. Talk about hard work! Which is quite funny in retrospect – we’re always so afraid of change!
Instead, supposing we were all to agree that we were indeed off our rockers, albeit with varying degrees of lunacy, life would be undeniably simple and rational. Ah, to make sense of chaos. One wouldn’t have to conform to what everyone thought was right. You wouldn’t have to make awkward small talk with strangers, just blab whatever you wanted and still no one would judge you because hey! You’re as mad as a hatter! You would be free and life would be beautiful again.
Personally, I think we are more ourselves with our best friends than anyone else. They’ve known you for years and there no point pretending to be someone you’re not in front of them, unless you’re looking to get beaten up. Ladies, those nice guys you so desperately want, they do exist. Here’s how your conversation with God will go if you end up talking to him about boys-
“Why couldn’t you send me one decent guy???” you whine.
“I did you psycho! You kept friend-zoning them!” replies God.
And all you decent guys- have you completely lost your marbles?! Why on earth would you want to be with a girl who doesn’t make you want to be the best that you can be, the one who makes you feel like every problem in the world is because of you?! Get your head on straight and go find a girl you can be yourself with.
But most of all mon amies, remember, as they say in Hindi, “Duniya gol hai aur har paap ka double role hai.” Sort of like the concept of Karma.
